Confirmation is a Catholic sacrament of mature Christian commitment
and a deepening of baptismal gifts.
Like Baptism and Eucharist,it is a Sacrament of Initiation for Catholics and a
Sacrament of faith in God's fidelity to us.
The Sacrament of Confirmation is now requires a two year preparation program. Students entering the 10th grade should enroll for PSR so that they will be prepared to celebrate the Sacrament during the spring of their 11th grade school year. The Catholic Community of Meridian has designed a program that actually starts in the 9th grade with a Confirmation Preparation Class. Following that is Confirmation 1st Year and 2nd Year. At a minimum the student must have at least two years of preparation in advance of celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation. Classes begin in August, with Confirmation taking place in the spring. Preparation includes weekly PSR classes, a required Confirmation Retreat, service experiences and more. Please contact Angela Dove in the Parish Office at 601-693-1321 ext 8, for more information.
Confirmation preparation for adults is coordinated through the OCIA program.
